Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Focusing on “The Roots of Franchise”

Ubisoft Quebec artistic manager Marc-Alexis Cote spoke to GameSpot about Assassin'due south Creed: Syndicate, and its focus on the unmarried histrion experience, lacking whatever multiplayer modes. Cote explains that this was because the studio wanted to focus on the core single actor story of Jacob and Evie, with everything advancing the narrative.

"The reason we are doing this is to really focus on the roots of the franchise/ That'south why all nine studios are focused on delivering this unmarried-player experience."

Executive producer Francois Pelland added that the combat and vehicles hijacking would not piece of work for online play.

"We felt like, especially with the type of fight that we have, a very hand-to-hand, very shut gainsay fight, that we needed to have very loftier responsiveness on the system."

"That's i affair. It's navigation as well. When we decided two years and a half agone, we said, let's exercise London of 1868. You cannot take vehicles that are just cosmetic. You cannot have vehicles that are only in that location to look good. Players would have said, I want to bulldoze those things. That adds complexity to the thing. It'due south more than technical reasons [for leaving out multiplayer.]"
